Craft Ideas
Spooky Ghosts
You can do this craft two different ways....with a sugar syrup mix or with starch. I'll explain the starch method first. You'll need medium sized pop bottles, a cheese cloth sheet (purchase at any gocery store, very inexpensive), 2 inch styrofoam balls (you can use bigger if you want a bigger head) and concentrated liquid starch......and cookie sheet. Put a styrofoam ball at the spout of bottle (either tape on or shove/grind it onto it) Then soak the cheese cloth in the undiluted starch solution. Put bottle on the cookie sheet (This will catch te drips) Then drape the cheese cloth over the bottle and let dry untill stiff.
When dry separate bottle and styrofoam ball. Cut out a couple of round circle from black felt for eyes.....makes a great centerpiece or house decor! To do the sugar syrup variation (sugar is much more handy around the house but if you intend to keep the ghost from year to year best to go the starch route) Simply make a semi-thick syrup of sugar and water about the consistancy of liquid starch......soak cheese cloth in that and drape over bottle....everything else is the same! Have Fun!
Amusements
How about going on a Hayride! Pack some Hot Chocolate in a Thermos, sandwiches in a picnic basket and have a great time.....if you do it at night you can star gaze at the same time!
Leaf Pile Jump & Picnic
All you need for this activity is to prepare a picnic lunch or dinner......or just some snacks if you prefer AND bring a couple of the spider type garden rakes. Take a drive to a park or area where you know there are bound to be lots of dry Fall leaves on the ground. Rake them into BIG piles and then tumble, laugh, burrow, throw and jump into them! When everyone tires and is ready serve the picnic.
